Summit Motorsports Park has been the site of the Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Blue Suede Cruise for many years. This was my first time at this event and I will say this is one of the best shows and venues I have been to. The show has plenty going on with three days of car cruising, drag racing, swap meeting and more. Both sides of the track were in full use as the pit side had over three hundred race cars from the Nostalgia Drag Racing League. The spectator side had over twenty-five hundred street rods, muscle cars, trucks, and vans along with a manufacturer's midway, swap meet, and a place called Women's World which had plenty of unique vendors for women of course. Friday night participants were treated to a free BBQ and Saturday night participants were treated to a free concert with Phil Dirt & the Dozers and a great fireworks display. Sunday's events were topped off by great door prize giveaways featuring a 1934 Ford Roadster built by ScottRods Custom HotRods and Fiberglass which was won by Jim Hollingsworth. Along with great nostalgia drag racing between rounds the track was open to show car participants who wanted to take their ride down the quarter mile. As you can see this event has plenty to do and see.
I was fortunate to meet Bobbie Bader while at this event. Bobbie and her family own and operate the facility which is top notch in every way and you can see why the NHRA has an event here. The whole staff was professional and friendly. I would highly recommend you check this show out next year.
